Description:

I am 48 years old and live in the London borough of Bromley. I have lived in Bromley 24 years after living in America for 15 years. The family photo album looks amazing however there were issues behind the scenes so I needed support with psychotherapy which I found very helpful. I was also fortunate to meet tutors and colleagues that met the areas of work I wanted to do when I became a clinician.
My online counselling began in 2010 when I first trained at OLT which was later followed with online supervision at the same place. I then chose to work only online and have widened my knowledge with working with trauma online. I also got permission to clinically diagnose dissociative disorders via the SCID-D online.
I have lived in three continents over the years and travelled throughout Europe and America. Connecting with friends and family took all sorts of forms of the years from pen-pal letters to group online meetings. As my dad worked in technology we had a home computer since 1983 so grew with changing computing systems. Dad also had a mobile phone nicknamed the brick in the mid 80s. Connecting online was not a big jump for me; in fact I was a little confused why some felt online counselling lacked aspects. We now have all had to go online due to the pandemic that hit many countries from 2019 to present.
I am presently writing a book on captivity.

Further information:

I wrote a chapter in the book Online Supervision published in 2018. I have spoken widely on trauma at conferences or online CPDs. I am a tutor at OLT teaching all levels. I am also a type 1 diabetic and have been since age 1 so have done talks to medical students and at colleges. I spoke at the International Cultic Studies Association about captivity.
